Our History A District Born in 1904
The 88th District was originally a portion of District 38 until 1904, when the 88th District was created to include Lodges in Archer and Wichita counties. The first District Deputy Grand Master was C.A. Montgomery from Archer Lodge No. 708.
Two Grand Masters of the Grand Lodge of Texas have come from the 88th District: Past Grand Master Watson Lee Moore (1908) from Wichita Falls Lodge No. 635, and Past Grand Master A.D. Hanna (1990) from Iowa Park Lodge No. 713.
As of 2025, the District has reduced from eight lodges to five due to lodge mergers — Burkburnett № 1027, Electra № 1067, Faith № 1158, Iowa Park № 713, and Wichita Falls № 635.
